An Exciting First Night!

It was an exciting first night at W.O.W. this evening! I so enjoyed seeing our classrooms bustling again with LOTS of happy kids. We had 61 excited kids and 12 enthusiastic ministry staff in attendance tonight. Praise the Lord!

Tonight our K-6th grade classes began studying their first WOW Bible Skills. I was told by several teachers that their classes have ALREADY earned some WOW coins for memory work! Woo-Hoo!

GOOD NEWS BULLETIN
We now have staff in place for our Pre-K class to open next Weds., Sept. 14. Let me say it again..........Praise the Lord!

PLEASE PRAY
We have been blessed with an unusally LARGE 1st/2nd grade class this year. We already need to divide this class into 2 separate classes, so we are praying for 2 MORE VOLUNTEERS to step forward. We need 1 teacher and 1 helper to lead a group of about twelve 1st/2nd graders. Listen closely........maybe God is calling you! Please see me ASAP to volunteer for this exciting ministry to kids.

We now have Kindergarten staffed for Club W.O.W.!
So classes Kindergarten-6th grade will begin on Wednesday Sept. 10th at 7 pm!

Praise the Lord!

As of right now, we are not able to begin the Pre-K class this week.
We still need 2 Pre-K teachers. Please pray with us that God compels the right two individuals to step forward and lead these precious little ones.

Bible Blitz Family Devotional for K-6

Sept. 8, 2008

Throughout the book of Psalms, we learn that we can talk to God when we're happy, sad, having a great day, or having the worst day of our lives. The psalmists tell God exactly how they feel--and kids can, too! As a family, share and discuss the following:

Let each family member share about a time that they had a VERY GOOD DAY!

Where is God on a good day?

Let each family member share about a time that they had a VERY BAD DAY!

Where is God on a bad day?

Read Psalm 13 together.
David seems to be having a VERY BAD DAY in this Psalm. He talks to God about it .
Like David, what can we do when we're having a VERY BAD DAY?

Pray together and ask God to help your family remember that He is with you everyday.......both good days and bad days.

Back To School

I love the back-to-school atmosphere! There's so much possibility and promise that comes with the beginning of a new school year!

While I was sending my own three boys back to school this past week, I felt that oh-so-familiar urge to embark on some new learning myself. So I've jumped into studying the book of Luke with my 13 year-old son, Steven. (He's studying Luke as part of our Bible Quizzing team, here at MaryNaz.) We've become study buddies and I'm pretty sure I'm enjoying it as much, if not more, than he is!

Parents, let me encourage YOU to take the opportunity to study the Bible with your children regularly. You will never regret time spent sharing and discussing the Word of God together. Not sure where to start? Here's an easy first step!

Beginning Sept. 8th you will find our Bible Blitz (K-6) family devotional posted on this blog. Check it out and get into God's Word with your kids this week!
